Longing is primal and globally widespread. Longing as the ideal of the right life, which is, in the words of Peter Strasser, "unattainably close". This bittersweet feeling describes, initially in general terms, the difference between the here and now and the belief of being able to achieve a better state in another place, at another time.
The exhibition Teilchenparadies at Kunstraum Riehen is a place of longing and a paradox in itself. On the one hand, this exhibition attempts to trace this seemingly contradictory feeling of the bittersweet, the unattainably close, and on the other hand to seek perfection in the individual, in the subjective. We try out the complete devotion and world embrace in the fragment, in the particle.
