The title of the exhibition refers to a work of the same name by the American artist Jeff Koons, a lithograph mounted on cotton from 1983, for which Jeff Koons used an existing advertising poster for a new alcohol product launched on the market. In such "posters", in combination with showcase objects, not only the celebration of the new manifested itself, but also Koons' concern to make the artwork as accessible as possible to the viewer. Applied to the exhibition at Kunst Raum Riehen, "New! New Too!" refers to the predominantly recent creation of the exhibited works or to new works created on site for the exhibition venue. Conceptual works, drawings, paintings, text and image constructions, sculptural and installative designs characterize the exhibition.
